We all remember the episode in which Joey refused to call Sarah after a date. We also remember the scene when he refused to share his food with Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). The episode was a hit, and it was the first time that Joey refused to share food with the women in his life. But did you know that Joey did the same thing to Sarah?
The One With the Birth Mother
“The One With the Birth Mother” is the ninth episode of Friends’ tenth season. It aired on January 8, 1998 on NBC. The episode stars Anna Faris as pregnant Erica and Chandler, who are both eager to meet their birth mother. It is a romantic comedy about two teenagers who meet for the first time and fall in love. The episode features a new twist on an old friend: Joey doesn’t share his food.
The episode is the first of many that feature Pheebs as a surrogate mother. Joey’s girlfriend Sarah is a vegetarian who has a repressed side. She has trouble sharing food with Joey, but she does not care, so she offers to share her vegetarian meals with him. She doesn’t share food with her children, but she does share his meals with him.
In the movie, Joey sets his sights on an Australian dancer named Janine. Elle Macpherson plays the role of Janine, who is Joey’s roommate. The two have a relationship, but it was short-lived and overshadowed by the Ross-Rachel relationship. However, Joey’s obsession with Kate seems stronger than his love for Rachel.
In this episode, Monica and Chandler are in Ohio to meet Erica, the birth mother of their prospective child. During the date, Joey tries to dress up for a fancy party. However, he accidentally wears Rachel’s shirt. Despite his efforts, Joey makes fun of his mistake and tells Ross that he has no intention of sharing his shirt. While Monica is mortified by this, she is more concerned about the fact that he is having two babies.
A new group of friends is formed and Phoebe insists on inviting Joey and Rachel. Phoebe says she could live in Vegas. Joey is shocked when Rachel orders a side salad. A snobbish waiter makes an awkward comment and Joey gets in on the fun. Fortunately, the waiter also serves her free crab cakes. They were unable to find a place for them to share their food, but they still decided to go ahead and share the appetizer.
The One With the Ring
In “The One With the Ring,” we learn that Joey has always had a fear of sharing food. He has no idea that the other members of his group don’t like him. So he puts his books in the freezer whenever he feels scared. The only explanation we have for this strange behavior is that he fears he might kill one of the characters in the books. The implication is that he tries to hide it from Phoebe.
The One With the Ring is not the only instance where Joey has broken the golden rule of sharing food. In the premise of the story, Joey and his friends are trying to make a date for the first time. He is upset that Emma took his fries, but he is willing to give her a second chance. Later, he accidentally eats his friend’s lasagna. However, he apologizes for eating his brother’s food when he tries to share it.
During the Thanksgiving holiday, Joey ate a large Thanksgiving dinner while his girlfriend, Rachel, is away. During this time, he is also stuffed, and his stomach is bloated. It’s funny to think that his obsession with Kate was stronger than his love for Rachel. The one thing is certain, Joey can’t resist eating. This shows just how much he loves food, and his obsession with Kate is far stronger than his feelings for Rachel.
The infamous audition scene is one of the most hilarious scenes. He pretends to own a Porsche, a fake home in upstate New York, and even fake French! This is so funny that it made me laugh every time. We’ve all had the same experience at one point or another. So, don’t miss this one! It’s guaranteed to make you laugh! If Joey had been able to share food, he wouldn’t have a problem with the role.
